It truly was a Shawshank redemption

For all things transfer-y. Rumours, official moves, desired moves etc.

Liverpool signed Salah for a club record £36 million (with possible extras). Big money. He's been pretty good at Roma, from what I hear, and didn't really get enough of a chance at Chelsea to be deemed a bust. Still, I'm always hesitant when we pay this much money for somebody, even if it's becoming standard.

I suppose we could go over the biggest transfers in the Premier League (and maybe some from the Championship) so far.

Bournemouth has signed goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Chelsea on a free transfer. A very solid reinforcement as Artur Boruc made some huge mistakes last season.

Chelsea has sold Juan Cuadrado to Juventus on a full transfer after the player had spent two seasons on loan in the italian club. They have also sold midfielder Christian Atsu to Newcastle. John Terry was also released and is looking for a new club, with suitors in both the Premier League and the Championship.

Everton has probably made some of the better signings so far this season. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £30m and dutch midfielder Davy Klaasen from Ajax for £23,5m. Jordan Pickford especially need to prove his worth. They have also sold Tom Cleverley to Watford for an undisclosed fee.

Leicester City have signed defender Harry Maguire from Hull City for £17m and have also signed hot defending prospect Sam Hughes from Chester for an undisclosed fee.

As mentioned, winger/forward Mohamed Salah has signed for Liverpool from AS Roma for a fee of £34.3m. Maybe his second spell in the Premier League will prove more worthwhile than last time. Liverpool have also signed Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and sold defender Andre Wisdom to Championship club Derby.

Man City have broken the world record for a transfer fee given for a goalkeeper; they have signed Ederson from Benfica for a reported £35m. They have also signed midfielder Bernardo Silva from Monaco for £43m. They have also sold Enes Unal to Villarreal for £12m and released Gael Clichy, Jesus Navas, Willy Caballero and Bacary Sagna on free transfer. Pablo Zabaleta is another player released by Man City, he has signed for West Ham.

Man United have signed swedish defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica for £30,7m. The only player leaving Man Utd on a free transfer this summer is fellow swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Stoke City have signed Darren Fletcher from West Brom on a free transfer.

West Ham as mentioned have signed Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer and also sent Reece Oxford on loan to german club Borussia Mönchengladbach.

That should just about cover it for Premier League. I'll go over rumors at a later stage.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Solanke. He looks promising and for as little as we signed him for, it's a win-win situation.

Everton are making moves. I assume they're banking on the Lukaku sale, which should be big money. Good signings, but I don't think it'll be enough to make up for losing the goals that came with Lukaku, in terms of bridging the gap between them and the top 6.

Watford have signed Will Hughes from Derby after the player spent 6 years playing for The Rams.

Hopefully he can take the step up and prove his talent.

Pickford may just be the player to watch at the moment, Everton have really done well with themselves. There was a point where it was rumoured that West ham were looking at him, but it seems like the club is being out priced out of the players they're looking at. Not that Bilic has ever been amazing during the transfer season. Here's a little roundup of the rumours I've been following. Will try and provide links to sources for everything I can.

Iheanacho (x)
West Ham have been aiming to sign Iheanacho since the Zaboleta transfer was announced but it seems other clubs are moving in. Leceister have become interested (x). His agent spoke out in may to say Iheanacho wont be sold to a title contender (x)

Giroud and Walkcot
Bilic is looking at around 50 mil for the both http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/625264/EXCLUSIVE-West-Ham-Transfer-News-Arsenal-News-Theo-Walcott-Olivier-Giroud-Arsene-Wenger

I think Iheanacho would be a great signing for West Ham. He's young and has a pretty solid record in limited chances. I've always rated him when I've seen him play for City (although that's a limited sample size).

Man Utd are apparently close to signing both Nemanja Matic from Chelsea and Fabinho from Monaco. There's also been consistent rumors about Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Why is Roma selling off this summer? It looks like Juventus will win a very easy scudetto next season.

Roma have hired a good manager though. Regardless, Totti is the biggest loss a club have seen since... Well, Giggs and Scholes I'd imagine. Either them or Xavi.

What's happening at west ham. I round up again

Club owner, David gould, just promised the club will buy at least two strikers x

Snodgrass, feghouli, and Valencia are on their way out - x
None of them have really made an impact, hopefully this means Bilic will actually step up and do soemthing during the transfer period but it's all been pretty disappointing so far. Would've been nice to see Snodgrass stick around and maybe make an impact but he's had a slow start.

Marseille and Lyon teams are now interested in Girou, making it harder for west ham to sign him - x x
Not too bothered by this myself. He's just a less effective Andy Carol really, with really similar play styles. Would be nicer to see Bilic going for some younger talent that'll grow within the team

Saint-Etienne have slapped a 10 mil euro price on full back Kevin Malcuit. x
Having just got Zaboleta who'll probably work with Byram and having Cresswell already well established, signing a new full back isn't crucial but if they can knock the price down he'll be a good little addition. He doesn't appear great with crosses which is usually the way our centre backs play so it'll definitely be interesting to see him on the team.

West Ham and Leceister both seeking thorgan hazard - x

Couple of new transfers:

Jermain Defoe has finally been confirmed as a Bournemouth player after almost a month of speculation.

Swansea have signed dutch goalkeeper Erwin Mulder on a free transfer after the player's release from Heerenveen this summer.

Sunderland have finally hired their man. Simon Grayson switches out Preston North End with Sunderland, he signs a 3-year deal.

On top of that there's a few soon-to-be confirmed signings:

- Fabio Borini likely switches out Sunderland with italian Serie A club AC Milan.
- Michael Keane could take a step up leaving Burnley for the much more ambitious Everton.
- Henry Onyekuru is expected to sign for Everton from belgian side K.A.S Eupen.
- Antonio Barragán will likely leave Middlesbrough for La Liga outfit Real Betis.
- Willy Caballero likely switches out Man City with another Premier League giant; Champions Chelsea.

Another less interesting transfer is Enzo Zidane signing for Alaves from Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane's eldest son has been a very exciting prospect in the past, but has not really grown into the player Real Madrid was hoping for.

Juventus has released Dani Alves who is drawing attention from other big european clubs with Man City as the most likely suitor.

Lastly, David Moyes is the favorite to take charge of Preston North End after Simon Grayson leaves the club for Sunderland.

Few more transfer news:

Michael Keane joins Everton from Burnley.
Everton also signs Sandro Ramirez from Malaga for £5.25m.
Aston Villa has captured former Chelsea and England skipper John Terry on a one year deal.
Sheffield Wednesday has signed George Boyd on a free transfer after he left Burnley after last season.

Rumors:

Alexandre Lacazette could join Arsenal from Lyon this summer as the frenchman is looking for a way out of his current club.
West Ham is keen on former Man Utd and current Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez.
Man Utd still want Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
Newcastle is looking to bolster their defensive options as they look to Joe Hart for a loan move as replacement for the unsettled Tim Krul.
Alex Neil is apparently Preston's first choice as manager after Simon Grayson left for Sunderland.

The Lacazette move is official. That's a great signing for Arsenal, assuming his game translates (which it should). I would've liked to have him at Liverpool. The only negative I have is that they should have signed him last year, or even the year before that, when they were rumoured to be interested. Rather than getting him young, they're getting him at 26. Still should have a few years in his prime, but they could have gotten him at 24 for much cheaper.

Interesting development. I thought Lacazette was bound for Atletico Madrid after Griezmann decided to stay, I read a rumor way back that Lacazette wanted Griezmann to stay so they could play together in Atletico.

Well, either way nice signing by Arsenal. Hopefully they don't have a new Henry on their hands

On to other confirmed signings:

A few days ago, but Nathan Ake signed a permanent deal at Bournemouth from Chelsea.
Willy Caballero has moved on to Chelsea after Man City released him on a free transfer this summer.
Huddersfield have made a plethora of transfers the last few weeks. Steve Mounie from Montpellier on the record fee, belgian striker Laurent Depoitre from Porto, Aaron Mooy from Man City,
German-Amerian midfielder Danny Williams on a free transfer and lastly Tom Ince from Derby County. They have also made a few loan deals.
Newcastle have made their second signing of the summer signing Florian Lejeune from Eibar on a 5-year deal.
Southampton signed defender Jan Bednarek from polish club Lech Poznan a few days ago.
West Brom made their first signing of the summer with Jay Rodriguez arriving from Southampton for £15m.

Rumors:

Chelsea and Roma have agreed a fee for Antonio Rudiger. The defender will most likely join the english champions for a fee around £30m.
Enner Valencia could return to Mexico as he's set to join Tigres from West Ham.
Former Man City defender Gael Clichy are on the verge of joining turkish club Basaksehir.
In a slightly sensational turn of events, Wayne Rooney could be joining boyhood club Everton this summer as he's seen as surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

In non-english news, global footballing superstar Lionel Messi signs a new four-year deal to stay at the Camp Nou with his club Barcelona.
